Blown Glass Pink Cancer Ribbon Necklace Raffle

Just about every person out there has known somebody that has been affected by cancer. This disease has touched so many of my friends and families life, I want to do something to help find a cure. And I need your help! Want to do you part in helping to find a cure? Well, I am selling raffle tickets for this necklace. Each raffle ticket is only $2, but $1 from every raffle ticket sold will go to help finding a cure for Cancer. The proceeds from this will go to the Susan G Kolmens walk for a cure. Once 20 tickets have been sold( which will cover the necklace materials and shipping)  then each ticket sold after that will go %100 to the walk for a cure. My First Ever Craft Festival

Just last Saturday I participated in my first ever craft festival and I had a blast! I spent over a month creating things everyday so that I would have enough inventory. Surprising the newer items that I made did really well. Since everything I make is one of a kind, that definetly helped me make several sales. My friend Cayla Hicks helped me get the day started by helping me set up. We got out there at 7 and watched the sun rise behind us. My mom and brother came from  Columbus to help me for the day. My husband also helped by talking up my product. I made several sales and doubled the table fee, which I thought was pretty good for my first show. I had so much fun watching my customers enjoy my creations. It really was a great day and a great experience. I also got invited to another craft fair, problem is its on June 2nd, which is my 5 year anniversary. I feel like my buisness is really growing and I am making more sales each week. I am getting closer to making my dream of opening Smiley's come true. I am excited to continue on my journey. Thanks to everybody that is helping me reach my dreams! You guys rock! :)

Handmade Buisness Cards

I have really enjoyed making my own buisness cards. They are all handmade and unique. I thought of this idea because all of my pieces are one of a kind, so why not make my buisness cards reflect the same. Yes, I know that when I go big, this may cause an issue, but for now, while I am still small these cards are perfect for my buisness. I hope you enjoy my cards as much as I do.

A Trip To Remember

Justlast week I got the chance to go see my mom in Florida. It was so great to see her and my grandparents. If it wasn't for my mom, I would not be the crafter I am today. She has always supported my love of crafting, and has helped me to reach my dreams of owning my own buisness one day. She and my husband are my inspirations. They both make my life complete. Some of you know how us crafters can be, and its great to have the love and support from the ones we love.

Every time I go down there we go junkin. Besides crafting, junkin is one of my favorite things to do!! While down there I found at least 12 pieces of glass ware that I can use to decoupage. The pieces are all sorts of unique shapes and sizes. I have already made a couple pieces with my wonderful finds. Take a look at these creations.

The circle charms of the green bottle were also found at a thrift store. It was actaully part of a bracelet that I took apart. I just love taking old, unwanted items and turning them into something special and unique!

Also while down there I got a chance to take some really neat pictures of some of my products. My nanny has a beautiful yard with all sorts of flowers, and statues. Here are a few of my artsy pictures I took of some of the pieces thatbI made.

I was featured in a treasury

I am very excited today because my 3 strand paper bead necklace was featured in a treasury on etsy. :) This is the first time I have been featured in a treasury so it's pretty neat!

I am really enjoying my new journey of selling my items online. Each day I discover a new way to promote my creations and help others like me promote their products. It has been fun and I look forward to all this will bring.

A week full of surprises!

      This past week was a week of surprises. Last Monday I received a package from a dear friend, Jani Linde. I open the package to find a box full of things I can use to create Smiley's Creations. There were tons and tons of buttons, feathers, silk flowers, hair barrettes, beads and much much more. Needless to say, I have been busy creating every since.
       My next surprise came from my mom-in-law, Terry Stutts. She surprised me with an early Christmas present of a Xoom Tablet to help me control my etsy and facebook pages. I was so surprised!! I never thought I would have a tablet but she got a great black Friday deal and saved over $400 getting it.  I am so thankful and very excited. Having a tablet makes it so easy to manage everything when you are on the go..... like I usually am.
         Then when I woke up this morning I read an email from etsy saying I made a sell!!!! My shop has been opened since November 2nd and this is my second sale. And what is even better is that both sells were by the same customer, which means I have a return customer!! YAY!
